Rachel Jabaily is currently writing her Ph.D. on evolution of the genus Puya, charismatic and spiny relatives of the pineapple found throughout the Andes. She spent many months in South America climbing mountains and studying the plants and she is excited to put down the laptop and return to the outdoors for Vascular Flora of Wisconsin. Rachel and husband Matt are originally from Colorado but both love the woods and prairies of the Midwest as much as the Rocky Mountains.
