My interests center around the genus Lepechinia in the mint family Lamiaceae. My research addresses issues of phylogeny, biogeography, and floral evolution of Lepechinia and related members of the subfamily Nepetoideae. This subfamily contains plants such as mint, oregano, thyme, rosemary, basil, marjoram, and many other familiar herbs.

This group of plants range from California to South America and Hawaii. I have so far been concentrating my field work in California.

Previously, I have been a TA for Plant Systematics (Botany 400) and Vascular Flora of Wisconsin (Botany 401).
